Pokémon Champions has just got a new gameplay trailer during today’s Pokémon Presents Event. The game also recieved a release window: 2026. No month nor specific date has been provided as of writing.
Pokémon Champions is a dedicated Pokémon battling game, where players can either transfer over their own Pokémon from Pokémon Home, or recruit fresh ones to use in online matches. The gameplay trailer has also revealved online and private battles for matches with strangers online or those you know. Pokémon Champions will support both single and double battles.
What’s especially interesting is the new training system present in Pokémon Champions. Players will be able to allocate points to specific stats like Speed and Special Attack, and manually select moves for their pokémon to use in fights. You’ll even be able to adjust the stat alignment to better specialise the role each of your pokémon will play during battles.
Training Pokémon like this appears to cost a type of in-game currency, though how to earn this currency has yet to been revealed in this gameplay presentation.
Pokémon Champions was first revealed in February of this year with a cinematic trailer, but this is the first time we’ve actually seen lenghty gameplay of Pokémon Champions in-action. It’s safe to say that for those who are competitively minded, this is an exciting title worth looking out for.
