Nintendo has announced that Kirby Air Riders will release on 20th November. The game is an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2, and is a sort of follow-up to Kirby Air Ride, a GameCube game from 2003 that has gained a cult following in the years since. The new game is being developed by Bandai Namco and Sora.

The Air Riders release date news came during the special 45-minute Nintendo Direct focused on the game. Kirby Air Riders is directed by Masahiro Sakurai. If that name sounds familiar, it’s probably because he was the director of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on Switch, and he created Kirby.
The original Kirby Air Ride was notoriously not loved by everyone. Leading UK games magazine, Edge, awarded the game a less than positive 3/10 rating back in issue 127. IGN.com scored the game a similarly disappointing 5.2/10.
